Vtion Wireless Technology: Unit sales up by 137 % in first nine months of 2009

Frankfurt, 26. October 2009

The Vtion Group, one of the three leading suppliers of wireless data card solutions for mobile computer use in China, has continued its strong growth: For the month of September the Vtion Group sold a total of 231,496 data cards. Compared to September 2008 the unit sales grew by 319 %. The development also represents an increase of nearly 15 per cent compared with the previous month (August 2009). In the first nine months of 2009 Vtion sold 1.1 million wireless data cards, 137 per cent more than in the first nine month of 2008 and 86 per cent more than in the whole of 2008. With more than 43 Euro the average selling price per unit increased by approx. 7 per cent compared to July and August 2009.

"The number of data cards sold in September shows that the momentum is continuing to grow in our business as the network rollouts progress. 3G is gaining further recognition and popularity all around China, which can clearly be seen by our continuous double digit unit growth month over month. We expect this to continue as the network rollouts - particularly with China Unicom and China Mobile - proceed." says Guoping Chen, CEO of Vtion Wireless Technology AG.

The Chinese wireless network industry is currently going through a process of market development from second generation networks to network standards of the third generation - known as 3G standards. The Vtion Group is expecting the completion of the establishment of 3G mobile networks to lead to a further increase in demand for wireless data cards in China.
